The villa is centrally located in a quiet and prestigious residential area of Playa Blanca. This is not an estate of concrete blocks or identical villas in rows. There are numerous different property types, from quite grand houses to small villas well spaced out over a mature site.

Playa Blanca is fast becoming one of the island's finest tourist areas. Originally a small fishing village it has been transformed into a first class holiday resort.

Most recent has been the development of Marina Rubicon, the largest private marina on the island. Effectively it's a small village of interconnecting cobbled streets lined with high class shops, cafes, and restaurants. It also now includes a great ten-pin bowling alley, mini-golf, pitch and putt golf course, shopping centre and more activities opening every few months.

Playa Blanca can boast the warmest weather on Lanzarote as it is almost always basked in warm sunshine, it can also lay claim to some of the finest beaches, where the deep turquoise sea is crystal clear and always calm. There are superb views of the mountains and the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura across the water.

Playa Blanca's sea front promenade connects the beaches and is lined with shops, restaurants and bars. From the harbour at the far end of the promenade, you can catch a ferry to Fuerteventura. You can go as a foot passenger or with a car and the 15-minute crossing on the modern Fred Olsen FastCat is great fun as you can sit at the viewing deck at the front or on the open-air terrace and enjoy the ocean.

A new bus service running around the resort started in October 2008 that is great for hopping on and off. The nearest stop to the villa is at Virginia Park, a complex next to Paradise Island Hotel, just five minutes walk away. Click here for more details, including a map of the bus route that you can download and print off to use during your stay.

The resort is great for families, with low-key and not wild nightlife and entertainment. Some of the bars offer live music and there are plenty of good quality hotels with nightly entertainment and shows suitable for all the family, open free to non-residents. The choice of restaurants is a gastronomic delight, varying from local Canarian tapas to international cuisine.

A great advantage to staying in Playa Blanca is the proximity to the beaches of Papagayo. These beaches must be the most beautiful beaches on the island (and some people say in all of Spain). A visit to Papagayo is a must if you are staying in Playa Blanca, however, do take a picnic as there are no shops or facilities here, and you will need a car.

All in all, the general feel of the resort is relaxed with a family feel...no lager louts or all-night clubbers here! Nevertheless there is plenty to do, both by day and by night.
